Job summary

Orro Manila is hiring a Network Security Engineer Level 1 to monitor, triage and resolve issues across firewall and Secure Service Edge platforms. You will join a brand-new team from day one, with mentorship from Level 2 engineers and a clear path to growth.

This hybrid role in Manila offers on-site training 2–3 days per month, with a focus on automation, documentation, and customer collaboration. Candidates should have 2+ years in network security or MSP support and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ hands-on experience in network security or network operations.
• Experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP), supporting multiple external clients under SLA.
• Solid network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing and ports.
• Experience monitoring alerts, triaging issues, following runbooks, and documenting/escalating clearly.
• Basic operational experience with either enterprise firewalls or SSE platforms; experience across both is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal English communication and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work a rotating 24x7 shift pattern including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alerts across customer firewall and SSE environments, triaging issues and responding within SLAs.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and access issues across TCP/IP, DNS, routing and ports, identifying whether the cause is network, policy or application.
• Review firewall and SSE logs to confirm whether traffic is permitted or blocked.
• Follow runbooks and manage tickets through to resolution or escalation, with clear and complete documentation.
• Escalate to Level 2 engineers promptly when issues go beyond Level 1 scope.
• Build capability across firewall, SSE and automation, working towards Level 2.
