Are you an experienced network engineer ready to help transform global connectivity for a fast-growing engineering consultancy? Then this role is for you.
As Network Engineer, you will support the design, operation and transformation of our global network infrastructure across multiple sites. You will play a key role in delivering secure, resilient and high-performance connectivity, supporting the transition towards a segmented Zero Trust network architecture. Working closely with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, IT Service Management, Regional IT teams and external technology providers, you will combine hands-on network operations with strategic architecture, scalability and performance optimisation to support our global engineering operations.
You will design, implement and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across global locations, configuring network segmentation, VLAN design and access controls. You will manage FortiGate firewalls, FortiOS, SD-WAN and VPN solutions, supporting routing and switching environments including OSPF and BGP, and lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis through our ITSM change management process.
You will design and manage Azure networking components, including VNets, subnets, Network Security Groups and private endpoints. You will support hybrid connectivity solutions such as site-to-site VPN and ExpressRoute, maintaining hub-and-spoke architectures and collaborating with cloud and infrastructure teams on secure, reliable connectivity.
You will design and optimise enterprise Wi-Fi solutions to meet coverage, capacity and performance requirements. You will manage wireless controllers, firmware updates and guest network access, troubleshooting connectivity issues and ensuring wireless environments align with security and operational standards.
You will support the implementation and evolution of Zero Trust network architecture, designing segmentation based on least privilege principles. You will support SASE and SSE security frameworks, including Secure Web Gateway, Cloud Access Security Broker and Zero Trust Network Access, working closely with Cyber Security teams to strengthen our network security posture.
You will manage DNS and DHCP services across enterprise sites and cloud environments, maintaining IP addressing standards and IP Address Management processes. You will manage global ISP relationships, circuits and connectivity services, monitoring performance, availability and service level agreements, and supporting new site deployments.
You will monitor bandwidth utilisation and forecast future network requirements, optimising traffic through QoS and SD-WAN policies. You will develop automation solutions to improve network deployment and management, and maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams, configurations and design standards.
You will also join a community that focuses on learning and development through regular knowledge-sharing sessions and investment in accredited professional courses. You can set the pace for your own development, and whatever path you choose, you will receive the right support.
