Job summary

DFI Retail Group is seeking a Network Engineer to deliver hands-on L2 engineering across four concurrent projects: Network Refresh, Segmentation, Store IoT and Bamboo. You will turn approved designs into configured, tested, and documented infrastructure across stores, distribution centres and offices.

The role sits in the Network Infra Team and requires experience in enterprise networks, multi-site deployments, and strong routing and switching skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in enterprise network engineering, with at least 2 years in an L2 / implementation role.
• Hands-on delivery of network deployments, migrations, and cutovers in production change windows.
• Experience supporting multi-site environments (offices, branches, DCs).

Responsibilities

• Build and configure switching, routing, wireless, and firewall changes from approved low-level designs.
• Prepare method of procedure (MOP), rollback plans, and change requests for each implementation.
• Execute migrations and cutovers, including remote hands coordination with field engineers.
• Run pre- and post-change validation and resolve L2 issues raised during hypercare.
• Maintain as-built documentation, IP plans, and device inventory.

The role sits under the Network Infra Team and turns approved designs into configured, tested, and documented infrastructure across stores, distribution centres and offices.

Core responsibilities:

• Build and configure switching, routing, wireless, and firewall changes from approved low-level designs

Do you have experience as a Network Engineer?

Experience

• 3-5 years in enterprise network engineering, with at least 2 years in an L2 / implementation role
• Hands-on delivery of network deployments, migrations, and cutovers in production change windows
• Experience supporting multi-site environments (offices, branches, DCs)

Technical skills

• Switching: VLANs, trunking, STP, LACP, port security
• Routing: static, OSPF, BGP fundamentals, VRFs
• Firewall policy, NAT, ACLs, and site-to-site VPN
• Enterprise wireless deployment and troubleshooting
• Network services: DHCP, DNS, NTP, SNMP, syslog, QoS basics
• Troubleshooting with packet captures, monitoring tools, and device logs
• Working knowledge of at least one major vendor (Cisco, Huawei, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto)

Certifications

• Required: CCNA or equivalent
• Preferred: CCNP or equivalent

Nice to have

• 802.1X / NAC
• Network automation with Python or Ansible
• ITIL Foundation
