JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a client-facing Project Manager to oversee onboarding and professional services projects for a managed IT services provider. The role covers the transition of new clients into ongoing help desk support and the delivery of implementation projects, including server builds, cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 environments, and new office setups.

The Project Manager will work with existing remote project leads and technical specialists and will also coordinate projects for a related AI and automation practice. Success in this role depends on clear communication, strong comprehension, organization, and ownership of delivery. The person must understand enough technology to coordinate specialists and explain progress to clients, but does not need advanced engineering expertise.

JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Own assigned client onboarding and implementation projects from kickoff and planning through delivery, handoff, and closeout; maintain oversight of the broader professional services project portfolio.
• Coordinate new client transitions into managed services and help desk support, making sure responsibilities, dependencies, and next steps are clear to the client and internal teams.
• Plan and track server build, cloud migration, Microsoft 365 setup, and new office opening projects with the appropriate technical leads.
• Support project coordination for AI and automation engagements by tracking scope, milestones, owners, decisions, and client communications. Rely on subject matter experts for technical design and implementation.
• Manage project plans, tasks, owners, timelines, notes, and status in ConnectWise; keep records current so the team can see priorities and blockers.
• Work closely with offshore project leads, engineers, help desk teams, and client stakeholders across locations and time zones. Clarify handoffs and follow up on commitments.
• Lead project check-ins, provide concise client-facing updates, surface risks and delays early, and coordinate solutions or escalation when a project needs a decision.
• Track changes to scope and delivery priorities, confirm expectations, and support a smooth handoff into ongoing service.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration / Management, Management Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Experience managing or coordinating IT projects, preferably in a managed services provider or similar client-facing technology environment.
• Working knowledge of ConnectWise project workflows, or comparable professional services automation software with the ability to become effective in ConnectWise quickly.
• Familiarity with help desk or IT service delivery and enough understanding of servers, cloud services, and Microsoft 365 to coordinate technical work without serving as the senior engineer.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills and strong comprehension, including the ability to understand client needs, clarify complex requests, and explain technical progress in plain language.
• Strong organization, follow-through, prioritization, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• A proactive, collaborative approach to working with a distributed, multicultural team and a willingness to take ownership of problems through resolution.
• Background in help desk, technical delivery, or IT operations followed by a move into project management is especially relevant.

Preferred Certifications:

• CAPM or PMP (helpful but not required)
• ITIL Foundation (helpful but not required)
