Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead molding process development and tooling design. You will coordinate with stamping, plating and assembly to optimize cost and ensure high-quality products.

The role requires strong expertise in injection molding, mold flow, GD&T, and DOE, with hands-on shopfloor experience. English fluency and overseas experience are a plus, and the position involves cross-functional collaboration for timely product launches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of Mold design, process and troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of tool fabrication, tool-steel selection, heat treating, and plating/coating.
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes (injection, insert-molding, two-shot, etc.).
  • Understanding of plastics, injection machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Proficient in Mold flow simulation and analysis.
  • Familiar with BTI 5-Step process and SIM (Scientific Injection Molding).
  • Understand GD&T and tolerance calculations.
  • Hands-on shopfloor experience.
  • Cost-driven manufacturing process development and design optimization.
  • Proficient with DFM, PFMEA, DOE, FAA, CTAR, CAD, Pro/E.
  • Knowledge of quality control, quality issue analysis, and improvement.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills; English fluency.
  • Overseas experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Overall molding process development coordinated with interaction processes to optimize cost and performance.
  • Concept design and proofing for molding processes and tools; DOE in process development.
  • Technical leadership and troubleshooting from LVM to HVM in tooling, qualification and problem solving.
  • Platform manufacturing process development and process documentation (DFM, FMEAs, WI, FACA/QCPC).
