Job summary

The Model Governance (MG) Officer at Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) oversees model risk governance across the model life cycle, ensuring compliance with BSP regulations and internal policy. S/he supports the Risk Management Office's strategies and coordinates with the CRO, RMCom, and department head.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience related to predictive behavioral modelling, programming and/or statistical studies, particularly on credit and market risk.
• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Information Technology.
• Preferably with graduate units in MS Finance/Computational Finance/Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.

Responsibilities

• Policy and Framework Management: assist in formulating policies, standards, and process guidelines aligned with risk management frameworks.
• Model Inventory Management: maintain centralized model inventory and ensure validation results and remediation actions are reflected.
• Issue and Performance Monitoring Oversight: coordinate performance monitoring and report model issues and remediation efforts.
• Model Owner Engagement: work with model owners, developers, and validators to ensure governance requirements are met.
• Regulatory and Coordination: manage BSP queries, internal audits, and external reviews; provide risk advisory.
• Ethical Standards and Professionalism: ensure activities comply with regulations and internal rules.
• Strategic Support: perform functions of the Model Validation Section Head in absence.
