Roku Bengaluru is seeking an Engineering Manager, Machine Learning to lead a team of ML engineers focused on recommendation systems. You will set technical direction, design scalable ML platforms, and mentor engineers to deliver impact on user engagement and growth.

The role blends deep ML expertise with leadership, emphasizing production-ready systems, collaboration with Product and Engineering, and leveraging generative AI to enhance recommendations.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a quantitative field; PhD is a plus.
• Deep expertise in recommendation systems, deep neural networks, and ranking models.
• Experience managing an ML or software engineering team.
• Experience shipping production ML models in consumer-facing products.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of ML engineers; foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration.
• Set the technical roadmap, aligning priorities across the team and within the broader Recommendations organization.
• Drive system design and architecture decisions for ML models powering content ranking and personalization.
• Provide technical leadership on model architecture, training/serving infra, and evaluation methodologies.
• Own the A/B experimentation and measurement strategy for the team’s surfaces.
• Champion the adoption of generative AI to push the boundaries of recommendation systems.
