Job Description

Responsible for the pre- and post-natal care of OB‑GYN patients as well as the newborn and contributes in monitoring pregnant women and support during labor and birthing process through continuous quality improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Admits patient to the unit efficiently using the nursing process and customer service standards.
• Obtains comprehensive relevant data using appropriate assessment techniques, monitoring equipment and diagnostic results.
• Assisting the doctor in delivering patients as well as providing emotional support.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned or required of the job by the immediate superior.

Educational Requirements

• Registered Midwife in the Philippines
• With at least 3 months clinical exposure in the general nursing unit or equivalent experience in assisting breast feeding mothers.

Work Experience

• Over 2 years experience as Registered Midwife in Labor and Delivery
• Provide the necessary supervision, care, and advice to low-risk women during pregnancy, labor, and puerperium.
• Assist in a cesarean section procedure as a scrub/circulating assistant.
• Provides appropriate care to the mother and the newborn.
• Provide life‑saving measures during obstetrical emergencies such as IV fluids and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Flexibility to work shifting and remain on‑call for emergency situations.

Skills and Training

• Basic Life and Advance Cardiac Life Support Training
• MCNAP member
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program or its equivalent
