Job Description
Responsible for the pre- and post-natal care of OB‑GYN patients as well as the newborn and contributes in monitoring pregnant women and support during labor and birthing process through continuous quality improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Admits patient to the unit efficiently using the nursing process and customer service standards.
- Obtains comprehensive relevant data using appropriate assessment techniques, monitoring equipment and diagnostic results.
- Assisting the doctor in delivering patients as well as providing emotional support.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned or required of the job by the immediate superior.
Educational Requirements
- Registered Midwife in the Philippines
- With at least 3 months clinical exposure in the general nursing unit or equivalent experience in assisting breast feeding mothers.
Work Experience
- Over 2 years experience as Registered Midwife in Labor and Delivery
- Provide the necessary supervision, care, and advice to low-risk women during pregnancy, labor, and puerperium.
- Assist in a cesarean section procedure as a scrub/circulating assistant.
- Provides appropriate care to the mother and the newborn.
- Provide life‑saving measures during obstetrical emergencies such as IV fluids and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Flexibility to work shifting and remain on‑call for emergency situations.
Skills and Training
- Basic Life and Advance Cardiac Life Support Training
- MCNAP member
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program or its equivalent
