Job summary

Scatec ASA in Manila seeks a Merchant Markets and Portfolio Analyst to support development of market intelligence, portfolio analytics, and merchant market assessments across Asia. The role provides quantitative analysis, forecasting, and decision support for investment decisions and portfolio optimization.

You will maintain databases, build models, perform revenue scenarios, support PPAs evaluation, and help prepare for trading and market operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s in economics, finance, engineering, or energy-related field.
• 3–7 years of Philippine power market analysis or energy economics experience.
• Strong coding, data visualization and modeling skills.
• Fluent in English; strong communication.
• Leadership experience is an advantage.

Support development of market intelligence, portfolio analytics, merchant market assessments and future market operations capabilities across Asia. Provide quantitative analysis, modelling, forecasting and decision support for investment decisions, portfolio optimisation and commercial strategy.

What you’ll be doing

• Maintain market intelligence databases, analytical models and reporting tools.


• Analize market fundamentals, supply-demand balances, capture prices and price formation.


• Perform revenue modelling, scenario analysis and merchant risk assessments.


• Support portfolio optimization studies and Asset & Offtake Optimization work.


• Support investment cases, due diligence and project valuations.


• Develop automation tools, reporting solutions and data infrastructure.


• Support preparation for future trading, optimization and market operations activities.


• Support evaluation of PPAs, hedging strategies and market-based revenue structures.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Energy Systems or related field.


• 3–7 years experience in Philippine power market analysis, quantitative analysis, trading or energy economics.


• Strong coding, data visualization, data management, and data modeling skills


• Strong analytical and communication skills.


• Leadership experience is an advantage


• Fluent in English, spoken and written (and other languages if needed or ideal)
