Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Business Development/M&A Associate in the Philippines to help drive the full deal lifecycle, from opportunity screening to execution and portfolio integration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver results, and develop skills in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

You will build financial models, assess investment opportunities, and contribute to due diligence, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy and market dynamics in the Philippines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, project finance, or a related field; or fresh graduates with internship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support origination and screening of renewable energy investment opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date view of Philippine renewable energy landscape and regulators.
  • Assist in assessing geographic or technology adjacencies.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for project valuation and scenarios.
  • Support due diligence processes with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Prepare investment memos and deal summaries.

Job description

As Business Development/M&A Associate, you will work closely with senior members of the business development team on the full deal lifecycle, from early-stage opportunity screening through to transaction execution and ARI portfolio integration. This role is well-suited to early-career professionals looking for a fast-paced environment where their work has direct, visible impact.and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Support the origination and screening of renewable energy investment opportunities
  • Maintain an up-to-date view of the Philippine renewable energy landscape including regulatory developments, market participants, tariff regimes, competitive dynamics, and precedent transactions
  • Assist in assessing new geographic or technology adjacencies aligned with ARI's growth strategy
  • Work with the ARI Corporate Finance team in developing and maintaining financial models for project and platform valuation, scenario analysis, and investment returns (IRR, NPV, yield, payback analysis, etc.)
  • Support commercial, technical, and legal due diligence processes, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors
  • Conduct risk identification and quantification across project, counterparty, regulatory, and market dimensions
Deal Structuring & Execution
  • Assist in structuring transaction terms, including equity/debt considerations, project financing parameters, and partner agreements
  • Help prepare and coordinate transaction documentation in collaboration with legal and finance teams
  • Support engagement with potential counterparties and equity partners during deal processes
  • Contribute to the preparation of information memoranda or teasers for partnership processes
Internal Reporting & Approvals
  • Prepare investment memos, deal summaries, and presentation materials
  • Support regular pipeline reporting and tracking of key transaction milestones
To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:
  • Foundational financial modeling skills—comfortable in operating financial models in MS Excel with long-term cash flow forecasts and multiple scenarios
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear, well-structured conclusions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling presentations and investment memos
  • High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple workstreams, and a strong sense of ownership
  • Proactive self-starter who takes initiative and follows through
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently when needed
  • Genuine interest in renewable energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, project finance, management consulting, or a related field; OR
  • Fresh graduates with strong academic standing and meaningful internship experience in finance, energy, or a related industry
