The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring products are properly stocked, visually appealing, and strategically placed to maximize sales and optimize the customer shopping experience. This role involves analyzing inventory levels, executing visual merchandising standards, monitoring market trends, and collaborating closely with store staff and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Product Display & Visual Merchandising: Set up promotional displays, arrange products according to planograms, and ensure shelves are fully stocked, clean, and visually compelling.

Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, perform regular stock checks, track product rotation (FIFO), and report shortages, damage, or overstock to management.

Sales Optimization: Identify slow-moving and fast-selling items, recommending promotional pricing or layout changes to boost sales performance.

Market & Trend Analysis: Keep track of competitor pricing, display techniques, and customer purchasing trends to provide actionable feedback to buying teams.

Vendor & Store Collaboration: Communicate regularly with store managers, sales reps, and vendors to coordinate stock deliveries and promotional events.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Retail Management, or a related field is a plus.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in retail, visual merchandising, or sales representation.

Key Skills:

Proficiency in reading and implementing planograms.

Basic mathematical and analytical skills for tracking inventory and sales figures.

Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30–50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and bend, stretch, or climb ladders to arrange stock.
