Job summary

University of Perpetual Help is seeking engineers to develop MEPFS designs and related calculations and documents for building projects. The role requires preparing comprehensive plans for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and fire detection systems.

Responsibilities include cross-discipline coordination, resolving design conflicts before construction, and maintaining thorough documentation and revision control of all MEPFS drawings and reports.

Job description

1. MEPFS Design and Engineering

• Develop MEPFS designs, calculations, specifications, and technical documents based on project requirements.
• Prepare and review Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Fire Detection/Alarm plans.
• Perform engineering calculations such as electrical load, voltage drop, lighting, HVAC cooling load, pump capacity, water demand, pipe sizing, and fire protection requirements.
• Develop system layouts, schematics, riser diagrams, single-line diagrams, equipment schedules, and other design deliverables.
• Ensure that designs are practical, constructible, energy-efficient, and appropriate for the building's intended use.

2. Design Coordination

• Coordinate MEPFS designs with Architectural, Structural, Civil, and other engineering disciplines.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts and potential clashes before construction.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical recommendations.
• Review architectural and structural plans to ensure proper space allocation for MEPFS systems, shafts, equipment rooms, ceiling spaces, and service areas.

3. Plans, Specifications, and Technical Documents

• Prepare detailed construction drawings, design specifications, scope of work, and technical reports.
• Review drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Prepare design revisions and respond to technical comments from clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain proper documentation and revision control of MEPFS design drawings and documents.
