Job summary

Connext is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to support a United States client. The role emphasizes accurate charge entry, payment posting, and AR reconciliation to sustain a compliant revenue cycle.

Responsibilities include posting charges from daily encounters in the PM system, handling EOBs and patient payments, and timely notification of denials to the AR team. HIPAA and data security remain a priority.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in medical billing.
• Strong understanding of CPT codes, modifiers and payer guidelines.
• Proficiency in interpreting EOBs and remittance advice.
• Ability to maintain HIPAA and data security standards.

Responsibilities

• Post charges from daily patient encounters into the PM system.
• Manually post insurance payments, EOBs, and patient payments accurately.
• Flag zero-pay transactions or denials to AR promptly and clearly.
• Assist in reconciling payment batches and identify discrepancies.
• Coordinate with AR staff and clients to resolve posting issues.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all activities.

What is the job?

The Medical Billing Specialist ensures accurate and timely charge entry, payment posting, and reconciliation to support a compliant and efficient revenue cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately post charges from daily patient encounters into the practice management system based on clinical documentation.
• Manually post insurance payments, EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), and patient payments, ensuring accuracy and alignment with expected reimbursement.
• Flag and communicate all zero-pay transactions or denials to the AR team promptly and clearly.
• Assist in reconciling payment batches and identifying discrepancies or trends in payment issues.
• Coordinate with internal AR staff and external clients effectively to clarify billing issues, address posting errors, and resolve missing information.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA and data security standards in all billing activities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in medical billing.
• Experience with manual data entry in practice management systems.
