Qualifications

• Hands-on medical billing experience in a corporate setting or as a Virtual Assistant.
• Experience specifically in mental health or behavioral health billing.
• Proficiency with practice management software and portals (SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, Availity).
• High accuracy and proficiency in Google Sheets for AR, payment logs, and billing trackers.

• Handle inbound and outbound client and therapist calls regarding billing inquiries, scheduling updates, and account follow-ups
• Manage new client onboarding by verifying insurance eligibility and benefits prior to intake
• Process payment method updates, manage claims submissions, and handle billing records within internal systems
• Review and reconcile ERA/EOB documents while accurately updating accounts receivable tracking sheets
• Address denial management by investigating rejection reasons, documenting details, and assisting with claims resubmission
• Maintain insurance portals, organize billing files, and support administrative operations through SOPs and templates
