Job summary

NZAB is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead end-to-end design and project delivery for mining equipment and industrial infrastructure. The role connects SolidWorks CAD modeling with project management to deliver robust engineering solutions tailored for Australian projects.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, fabricators, and clients to drive safety, reliability, and operational efficiency across complex site applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in heavy industry/mining/machinery.
• Proven track record supporting Australian clients or working to Australian standards.
• Expert-level SolidWorks for 3D assembly modeling and drafting.
• Experience managing projects from concept to execution with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mechanical design, modeling, and detailing of heavy machinery and structural components using SolidWorks.
• Manage full lifecycle projects from scoping and conceptual design through fabrication, site installation, and commissioning.
• Perform mechanical calculations, structural analysis, and design verification to meet safety requirements.
• Interface with Australian clients, fabricators, and field engineers to manage timelines and technical variations.
• Produce engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and maintenance manuals.
• Conduct Design Risk Assessments (Safety in Design/HAZOP) ensuring compliance with quality and safety protocols.
