Job summary

Staff Domain is seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to provide design, analysis and documentation support for Australian-based projects. The role focuses on technical delivery within a remote team, with Australian engineers retaining client and project management responsibilities.

The successful candidate will work on piping, pressure vessels and tanks for brownfield upgrades, new system design and maintenance across mining and heavy industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as a consulting engineer on multiple jobs with budgets and schedules.
• Experience with mining, minerals processing, power generation or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience applying ASME and API standards.
• Ability to prepare piping layouts, equipment plot plans, and 3D models using CAD tools.
• Ability to perform piping and tank stress analysis and flexibility evaluations.
• Experience with piping, pressure vessel, and tank calculations and strong knowledge of engineering principles.
• Ability to select and document piping materials, valves, supports, and inline components.
• Review and verify isometric drawings, P&IDs, and civil-structural interface documents.
• Communicate design requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare clear technical reports and engineering documentation.
• Understand engineering risk assessment and safe design principles.

Responsibilities

• Support piping, pressure vessels and tanks on brownfield upgrades.
• Design and engineer new systems.
• Serviceability and maintenance of ageing systems.
• Engineering analysis of repairs.
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications and scopes of work.
• Review drawings and models.
• Collaborate with Australian engineers and project managers.
• Work on mining, minerals processing and heavy industrial facilities.
