Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a seasoned Engineering Leader to head the Design and Engineering Department in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

You will oversee mould, tool, and machine design, ensuring manufacturability, safety, and cost-effectiveness while coordinating with customers and internal teams. The candidate will provide engineering expertise on critical projects, drive continuous improvement, and mentor designers and engineers through training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in mould making, tooling, machine design, or precision manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering and design teams.
• Strong background in Special Purpose Machines (SPM).
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and engineering drafting.
• Excellent communication in English and Filipino.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Design and Engineering Department, ensuring high-quality and timely project delivery.
• Review product, mould, tooling, and machine designs for manufacturability, safety, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with customers, production, quality, and commercial teams to ensure clear understanding of project requirements.
• Approve and cross-check detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, ensuring accuracy of dimensions, tolerances, and fit.
• Develop project design plans and monitor progress to achieve timeline and performance targets.
• Coordinate design modifications, engineering changes, and resolution of design non-conformities.
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure technical specifications and design requirements are met.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within design and engineering processes.
• Conduct technical reviews and provide engineering expertise on critical projects.
• Develop and mentor designers and engineers through training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

Non-Negotiables

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mould making, tooling, machine design, or precision manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering and design teams.
• Strong background in Special Purpose Machines (SPM).
• Extensive knowledge of mould design, tool and die, jigs and fixtures, machining processes, and mechanical design principles.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and engineering drafting.
• Strong project management and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Filipino.

Good-to-Haves

• Experience in automation equipment and industrial machinery design.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience conducting technical training and capability-building programmes.
• Knowledge of supplier development and vendor coordination.
• Professional engineering licence is an advantage.
