Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a senior Engineering Lead in Sta. Maria, Bulacan to drive mould, tooling, and SPM projects, supervise the Design and Engineering Department, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery.

The role focuses on reviewing designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness, coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and mentoring designers and engineers, with extensive leadership and CAD/CAM expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in mould making, tooling, machine design, or precision manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering and design teams.
• Strong knowledge of SPMs and mould/tooling design concepts.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and engineering drafting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Design and Engineering Department to ensure high-quality, timely project delivery.
• Review product, mould, tooling, and machine designs for manufacturability, safety, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with customers, production, quality, and commercial teams to align project requirements.
• Approve and cross-check fabrication drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy and proper tolerances.
• Develop project design plans and monitor progress to hit timelines and performance targets.
• Coordinate design changes and resolve non-conformities.
• Work with suppliers to meet technical specs and design requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in design and engineering processes.
• Conduct technical reviews and provide engineering expertise on critical projects.
• Develop and mentor designers and engineers through training and knowledge sharing.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mould making, tooling, machine design, or precision manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering and design teams.
• Strong background in Special Purpose Machines (SPM).
• Extensive knowledge of mould design, tool and die, jigs and fixtures, machining processes, and mechanical design principles.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and engineering drafting.
• Strong project management and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Filipino.

Good-to-Haves

• Experience in automation equipment and industrial machinery design.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience conducting technical training and capability-building programmes.
• Knowledge of supplier development and vendor coordination.
• Professional engineering licence is an advantage.
