Job summary

Aggreko plc in Taguig seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to produce and support mechanical designs and documentation for sales bids, detailed design and operational projects. You will create layouts, 3D models, P&IDs and equipment arrangements for power generation equipment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in relevant design roles, and strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• At least 5 years of mechanical design experience in power generation, energy, utilities or industrial applications.
• Knowledge of diesel and gas power generation systems and mechanical balance-of-plant equipment.
• Proficient in mechanical equipment sizing, calculations and piping, cooling, ventilation, fuel and exhaust systems.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, layouts and drawings with understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical designs and engineering solutions for Aggreko’s power generation and energy projects.
• Develop layouts, 3D models, P&IDs, piping drawings and equipment arrangements using CAD software.
• Design and support balance‑of‑plant systems including cooling, ventilation, fuel, exhaust and related piping.
• Perform engineering calculations and assist in selection and specification of pumps, fans, heat exchangers and tanks.
• Coordinate with sales, project and multidisciplinary teams to deliver designs, proposals and commissioning support.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and engineering standards while maintaining documentation.

Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Mechanical Design Engineer, based in BGC, Taguig. The position is responsible for producing and supporting mechanical engineering designs, and associated technical documentation for sales bids, detailed design and Operational projects.

What you’ll do as a Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Prepare mechanical designs and engineering solutions for Aggreko's power generation, temperature control, and energy projects.
• Develop mechanical layouts, 3D models, P&IDs, piping drawings, equipment arrangements, and other design deliverables using CAD software.
• Design and support balance-of-plant systems, including cooling, ventilation, fuel, exhaust, piping, and other auxiliary mechanical systems.
• Perform engineering calculations and assist in the selection and specification of mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, heat exchangers, chillers, valves, and tanks.
• Coordinate with sales, project, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver project designs, proposals, site support, technical reviews, and commissioning assistance.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and engineering standards while maintaining project documentation, as-built records, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) certification considered an advantage.
• At least 5 years of mechanical design experience in power generation, energy, utilities, temperature control, or industrial applications.
• Knowledge of diesel and gas power generation systems and mechanical balance-of-plant equipment.
• Proficient in mechanical equipment sizing, engineering calculations, and the design of piping, cooling, ventilation, fuel, and exhaust systems.
• Ability to prepare and interpret P&IDs, mechanical layouts, equipment arrangements, and engineering drawings, with a solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with knowledge of international engineering standards and proficiency in English.

Desired Skills:

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong electrical power-system design and computer design skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience in electrical engineering tools/software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP or EasyPower.
• Ability to prepare clear engineering calculations, technical documentation and drawings and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
