Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation in Didipio, Philippines, is seeking a qualified Mechanic—UG Equipment (Mobile) to maintain production machinery with minimal supervision and ensure equipment availability in a safe, cost-efficient manner. You will perform preventative maintenance, document work orders, and follow Safety, Health and Environment policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with UG mobile equipment such as Sandvik, Normet, Volvo, and Caterpillar.
• High school graduate with a related TESDA NCII is advantageous.
• Minimum 3–4 years’ work experience with UG mobile equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
• Able to read and write English at an acceptable standard.
• Valid driver’s license and/or mobile equipment operation.
• Can perform basic motor controls.
• Experience with HV cables, transformers, electric motors, MCCs, motor starters.

Responsibilities

• Complete all documentation such as work orders and time sheets.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environment policies and procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance of hoses, tubing, piping, and fittings.
• Maintain a clean working environment to prevent contamination.
• Use documentation and reference materials, and record activities on each piece of equipment.
• Prepare a Job Action Plan and Job Hazard Analysis if required.
• Communicate with others about the assigned task and discuss the outcome of risk assessment.
• Select types and grades of fluids and lubricants according to manufacturer’s specifications.

Job Description

Seeking asuitably qualified, and reliableMechanic—(UG Equipment—Mobile)to support afull range of mechanical maintenance, repair, and service activities on production equipment with considerable independent judgment in deciding with minimal supervision to ensure equipment availability in aquality, cost-efficient, environmentally, and safe manner. The role will report to theSupervisor – Mechanical Maintenance (UG MobileEquipment).

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Complete all the necessary documentation such as work orders, and time sheets for futurereference;
• Ensures compliance with Safety, Health, and Environment policies andprocedures;
• Perform preventative maintenance of hoses, tubing, piping, and fittings by checking for deficiencies such as chafed hoses, bubbling, andleaks;
• Maintain aclean working environment to prevent contamination of thesystem;
• Uses Documentation and reference materials, and records activities on each piece of equipment for futurereference;
• Prepare aJob Action Plan and Job Hazard Analysis ifrequired;
• Communicate with others about the assigned task and discuss the outcome of the risk assessment; and
• Select types and grades of fluids and lubricants for the applications according to the manufacturer’s specifications and fluidcapacity.

Qualifications

• Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGoldWay;
• At least ahigh school graduate and a mechanical trade diploma related to engine repairs (TESDA NCII) is anadvantage
• Minimum 3 – 4 years’ work experience with UG mobile equipment such as Sandvik, Normet, Volvo, and Caterpillar
• Ability to communicate effectively across alllevels.
• Able to read and write English at an acceptablestandard.
• With avalid driver’s license and/or mobile equipmentoperation.
• Can perform basic motorcontrols
