Southcentral Hardware Distributors, Inc. in Cebu Opao seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy machinery for safe, reliable operation.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical issues, and carry out field or workshop repairs while keeping accurate service records and prioritizing safety.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar position.
• Knowledgeable in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of heavy equipment is an advantage.
• Able to use basic mechanic tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Capable of performing field/workshop repairs.
• Responsible, hardworking, and safety-conscious.
• Willing to work overtime and respond to equipment breakdowns when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspection of heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related problems.
• Perform troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns and electrical systems.
• Repair and replace defective parts, components, hoses, belts, batteries, and other equipment parts.
• Conduct regular checking of brakes, steering, transmission, hydraulic systems, and other critical components.
• Perform emergency repairs and breakdown maintenance when required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
• Report equipment defects and recommend necessary repairs or replacement of parts.
• Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in the work area.

About the role

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of heavy equipment and machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
