BASIC FUNCTION

A Senior Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles or machinery. This role involves advanced technical expertise, leadership responsibilities, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles or equipment
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, brake service, engine tune-ups, etc.)
• Conduct Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) for vehicles and trucks, including scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and replacement of worn parts to prevent breakdowns
• Overhaul engines, transmissions, and other major components
• Supervise and mentor junior mechanics and helper mechanic
• Ensure all repairs comply with safety regulations and company standards
• Maintain accurate records of services, PMS schedules, and repairs performed
• Order parts and manage inventory when necessary
• Test vehicles/equipment after repair to ensure proper performance
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and perform rescue/recovery activities, including on-site troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and coordination of towing when necessary
