Job summary

BDO Unibank, Inc. is seeking an experienced MDM Engineer to define and manage master data management architectures. The role focuses on scalable, secure data platforms and cross-functional collaboration with analytics teams.

You will design, implement, and maintain MDM solutions, ensuring data quality, governance, and performance while aligning with enterprise data strategy. This is an onsite opportunity in Makati with exposure to enterprise ETL and data modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience on data analytics, big data or master data management.
• Strong SQL, Python and Java skills with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with enterprise ETL, data quality and MDM concepts.
• Able to communicate technical concepts to both developers and business partners.
• Willing to work onsite in Makati.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates on detailed design with analysts, architects and stakeholders following architecture standards.
• Contributes to impact assessment, risk analysis and development plans.
• Develops or reviews code per design and ensures maintainability and security.
• Maximizes platform tools to build robust, reusable code with minimal errors.
• Reviews interfaces, validation, security, and contingency procedures.
• Produces deployment scripts and documentation per SDLC guidelines.
• Designs and builds unit tests, SIT and UAT, and records results.
• Supports SIT/UAT activities and prepares test data aligned to end-to-end scenarios.
• Provides level 3 production support post go-live.
• Maintains platform documentation and supports data governance initiatives.
• Supports MDM-related programs including data analysis and data quality improvements.

Job Summary

The IT Data Platform & Analytics Department within the IT groupis in charge ofdefining enterprise data and data architecture, producing data models and data transformation to support analytics and reporting needs across all BDO applications.

As an MDM Engineer, you willbe responsibleindesigning, implementing, and managing the technical architecture and solutions for Master Data Management (MDM) systems. This role ensures the scalability, security, and performance of MDM platforms and integrations whilealigning withenterprise data strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for Project Build

• 1. Collaborates and contributes to the detailed design together with Systems Analyst, Architects, Business, and other stakeholders based on business requirements in adherence to architecture and standards.
• 2. Collaborates and contributes to the detailed design together with Systems Analyst, Architects, Business, and other stakeholders in impact assessment and risk analysis. Create development plans to consider the impact of solution design decisions.
• 3. Develops / reviews application code according to the agreed functional design, technical design, methodologies and standards
• 4. Maximizes use of platform tools to build robust, efficient, maintainable and reusable code minimizing negative impact on other codes/module and with minimal errors.
• 5. Reviews code for user and system interfaces, validation and error correction, processing rules, access, security, audit controls, recovery routines and contingency procedures.
• 6. Develops configuration/scripts according to the agreed functional design, technical design, methodologies and standards for package deployment
• 7. Produces and maintains technical documents including those required by the Software Development Lifecycle process for projects

Responsible for Project Testing

• 1. Designs and build test cases used for Unit Test, System Integrated Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• 2. Conducts unit test/SIT depending on project/platform requirements
• 3. Supports SIT and UAT activities depending on project/platform requirements
• 4. Ensures test data preparation is aligned with approved end to end test scenarios for SIT and UAT
• 5. Executes and documents unit test plan and results
• 6. Reports progress and issues in a timely manner to Delivery Manager / Project Manager

Support Deployment and Post-Production Activities

• 1. Prepares package, configuration files, deployment scripts and installation guide for all environments
• 2. Documents and ensures training and proper hand-over of projects to Operations team before Go-Live or as agreed timelines
• 3. Provides level 3 support and production standby post go live.

Platform Related Responsibilities

• 1. Maintains technical platform documentation and ensures changes per project are documented centrally.
• 2. Support MDM-related programs including data analysis activities, ensuring proper data governance, etc.

Qualifications:

• 1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• 2. 3-5 years of experience working on projects related to data analytics,big data or master datamanagement
• 3. Skillset:
  • Programming Languages: Experience and knowledge in coding in Python, SQL, Java is an advantage.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong solution definition, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Technical and Business Communication: Ability to communicate both in technical language with developers and business language with business partners.
  • Technical Competency: Excellent understanding of solution development methodologies and application development with high level understanding on financial products and processes. Hands on experience (implemented and completed at least 2 projects, end to end) on Enterprise ETL (Extract Transform, Load), Data Quality (Informatica Hub, BDM/ BDQ) and Master Data Management tools (Informatica Data Director, Data Modeling, MDM Hub Console, MDM Configuration).
  • Has worked with Customer 360, Provisioning tool and MDM APIs
  • SQL Proficiency. Strong knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating databases.
  • Knowledge on SDLC: Knowledge, understanding and experience of software development life cycle, agile methods and processes, and capability to support project and delivery teams.
  • Continuous Learning & Improvement: Look actively for opportunities to shorten development times, improve skills of the team and improve cost efficiency of application development activities.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solver: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to data quality, integration, and platform performance
  • Master Data Management (MDM) concepts: Deep understanding of MDM principles, including data quality, integration, governance, and synchronization
