Job summary

Coruña British International School in Galicia is seeking an enthusiastic Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our team. The post requires a maths degree, QTS or an internationally recognised qualification, and proven experience teaching Mathematics at the secondary level within a British or international school setting.

You will deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned to UK curriculum expectations for KS3–KS4 (and preferably KS5), use assessment for learning and data-informed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related numerate discipline.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an internationally recognised teaching qualification suitable for secondary education.
  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level, ideally within a British or international school environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK curriculum expectations for KS3–KS4 (and preferably KS5) Mathematics.
  • Ability to deliver clear, structured, and engaging lessons that are accessible to learners of mixed abilities.
  • Experience using assessment for learning, progress tracking, and data-informed teaching strategies.
  • Confidence in teaching algebra, geometry, statistics, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.

About the school

Coruña British International School is a highly distinguished British international school and the first in the city to gain NABSS accreditation. The role

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related numerate discipline.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an internationally recognised teaching qualification suitable for secondary education.
  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level, ideally within a British or international school environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK curriculum expectations for KS3–KS4 (and preferably KS5) Mathematics.
  • Ability to deliver clear, structured, and engaging lessons that are accessible to learners of mixed abilities.
  • Experience using assessment for learning, progress tracking, and data-informed teaching strategies.
  • Confidence in teaching a range of mathematical strands, including algebra, geometry, statistics, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to establish a positive, supportive learning environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
