Job summary

O Castro British International School in Vigo, Spain, is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Primary Teacher to join our team, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 1 and 2 in line with the British curriculum.

You will regularly assess pupil progress, provide clear feedback to parents, contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities, and foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • C1/C2 English proficiency.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across core Primary subjects in line with the British curriculum.
  • Teach across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2, supporting pupils in developing foundational skills and curiosity.
  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to parents and leadership.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of teaching resources.

The role

O Castro British International School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Primary Teacher to join the team.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across core Primary subjects in line with the British curriculum, ensuring strong coverage of literacy, numeracy, science and cross-curricular learning.
  • Teach across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2, supporting pupils in developing secure foundational skills, confidence and curiosity.
  • Regularly assess, monitor and record pupil progress, providing clear feedback and reporting to parents and school leadership.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, the development of high-quality teaching resources and the continuous improvement of the Primary programme.
  • Support enrichment activities such as assemblies, themed days, school events, clubs or educational visits.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour, wellbeing and active learning.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • C1/C2 level of English.
  • Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the British Primary curriculum and effective pedagogical approaches for younger learners.
  • Successful applicants will have undertaken an enhanced safeguarding and local police checks.
