Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) is offering a structured internship in Manila to support the accounting team with day-to-day tasks in maritime finance. You will process invoices, assist with AR, GL postings, and month-end close activities under mentoring.

Requirements include pursuing a degree in Accounting/Finance, good Excel skills, and fluency in English. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate across functions are valued.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Basic understand of double-entry bookkeeping and Excel familiarity.
• Fluent in English and able to liaise with colleagues professionally.

Aufgaben

• Assist with processing invoices, expense claims, and supplier payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company procedures.
• Support accounts receivable activities including preparing customer invoices, reconciling payments, and following up on overdue balances.
• Help maintain the general ledger by posting journals, reconciling accounts, and assisting with bank reconciliations.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities, including compiling schedules and supporting variance analysis.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and management packs, ensuring data is complete and well-documented.
• Assist with VAT, tax, and statutory reporting tasks as required and support audits by preparing supporting documentation.
• Participate in process improvement projects and documentation of accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, crewing, procurement) to resolve accounting queries and ensure accurate charge allocation.
