BW Epic Kosan Crewing Inc. seeks an experienced Marine Operations Manager to lead daily vessel operations, ensure cargo safety, and coordinate with technical teams for drydock planning.

You will supervise inspections (SIRE, CDI, PSC, USCG, etc.), drive safety campaigns, and maintain crew matrices while ensuring regulatory compliance across the fleet. You will analyze reports, conduct internal audits, train officers and crew, and liaise with class and oil majors to sustain certifications and

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily marine operations of vessels: navigation, mooring, deck equipment, safety equipment, port calls & STS.
  • Ensure safety of cargo operations including loading/discharging and tank changes.
  • Coordinate with Technical team for drydock planning and execution.
  • Oversee vessel inspections: SIRE, CDI, PSC, USCG, terminal and flag compliance.
  • Strive for zero LTIFs and promote fleet safety campaigns.
  • Respond to charterers' and oil majors' questionnaires promptly.
  • Maintain crew matrices on OCIMF website and review safety reports.
  • Conduct management inspections and internal audits, drive corrective actions.
  • Analyze safety, inspection and audit reports to advise vessels on Marine matters.
  • Liaise with Class, oil majors, owners, suppliers to keep vessels certificated and compliant.
  • Plan and deliver training for officers and crew; conduct onboard drills.
  • Appraise officers and interview deck officers for selection/promotion.
  • Investigate incidents/accidents as directed by Fleet Manager.
  • Support BWEK strategy and UN SDG goals; handle ad hoc duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Manage the daily Marine operational aspects of a group of vessels covering – navigation, mooring, deck equipment, safety equipment, Port arrival / departure & STS operations and general condition.
  • Manage and ensure safety of cargo operations covering loading / discharging, grade change, tank
  • preparation.
  • Work in conjunction with the Technical team for Drydock specification, planning and execution.
  • Responsible for the vessel's 3rd party inspections - SIRE, CDI, PSC, USCG, Terminal, Flag etc. Endeavour to achieve business KPI’s performance.
  • Work with vessels to ensure that LTIFs are zero.
  • Actively participate in safety campaigns to ensure active participation by the fleet.
  • Promptly respond to questionnaire requests from Charterers and Oil Majors.
  • Keep crew matrices of vessels under their care updated on the OCIMF website.
  • Diligently review safety reports (including Master’s reviews) received from their respective vessels.
  • Conduct Management Inspection and internal audits on ships. Identify areas for improvement and verify implementation of the corrective and preventive action.
  • Analyze reports, such as Safety, SIRE / CDI inspection, PSC inspections, Internal audits, Near miss,
  • Incident/accident and other such reports. Where required, advise vessels on matters related to Marine activities.
  • Liaise with interested parties such as Class, Oil Majors, Ship Owners, Suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure vessel’s are certificated & operated in accordance to International regulations.
  • Prepare training agenda and conduct training for officers and crew.
  • Conduct safety, environmental and security drills onboard to assess effectiveness.
  • Conduct appraisal of Officers onboard and recommend actions.
  • Interview deck officers to evaluate suitability for selection/promotion.
  • Conduct investigation of incidents/ accidents onboard as advised by the Fleet Manager.
