Job summary

Okada Manila is seeking a senior network engineer to lead the design, deployment and maintenance of the property's data network and telecoms infrastructure.

You will mentor IT technicians, coordinate with vendors and system integrators, run POC tests, and ensure high availability through effective change management.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on data network experience, CCNA or equivalent, and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Business or equivalent years of experience.
• CCNA and Voice Certification is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience supporting a large complex data network.
• Knowledge of operating systems and infrastructure technology.
• Telecoms technologies including enterprise VOIP, PABX, routing, switching and security.

Responsibilities

Job description

I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

Responsible for the low level designs, low-level implementation plan, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the company’s network & telecommunications infrastructure. He/She is responsible for leading a team of network Engineers providing mission critical technical support for the organization.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Identifies technologies and solutions to support the technology road map.
• Provide subject matter expertise to related technology disciplines for collaborative projects.
• Interact with solution and technology vendors for project services and technology updates among other engagements.
• Provide mentoring to IT technician, Telecoms within the functional group
• Collaborate with team members to create and develop plans and design of Telecoms Infrastructure to support new projects and enhancements.
• Lead proof of concept activities as well as conduct design and performance assessment of customer projects
• Performs service testing and benchmarking for IP services and enhanced customer experience
• Provide isolation, resolution and tracking for escalated alarms and issues.
• Manages recurring problems and creates and/or implements long term solutions
• Escalates incidents to vendor for resolution when necessary
• Invokes change management process for every changes that needs to be applied on the network

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews service network order from IT Technician group and manage the implementation timeline based on the content.
• Executes capacity plans and upgrades ensuring high availability and adherence to Telecoms Infrastructure
• Plans and executes proof of concept (POC) activities for new network elements integration with close coordination to technology vendors and system integrators.
• Manages troubles tickets and ensure resolution within SLA.
• Provides assistance via client technical meetings to escalated/recurring concerns.
• Provides mentoring to IT Technician, Telecoms team members to enhance team technical skills.
• Designs maintenance activities and creation of knowledge base.
• Create and maintain detailed work infrastructure diagram and documentation.

Educational Requirement:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or equivalent years of experience.
• CNNA and Voice Certification is and advantage

Experience Requirement:

• At least 5 years of hand-on experience in supporting a large complex data network
• knowledge in operating systems and infrastructure technology
• Telecoms technologies
• Knowledge of enterprise VOIP, PABX and Telecoms Infrastructure including protocols, routing, switching and security
