Tell stories that move ideas, institutions and people.

Finovista works at the intersection of development, innovation and finance, designing and delivering high-impact programmes that move ideas from intent to implementation and from pilots to scale. We work with governments, development agencies, foundations, businesses, investors, innovators and communities across the Global South.
We are looking for a communications professional who can turn this breadth of work into a distinctive, credible and influential voice for Finovista. This is not simply a social media role; it is an opportunity to shape our public identity, strengthen our thought leadership and make complex work visible, understandable and memorable.

The Role

You will own Finovista’s external communications, digital brand and content ecosystem. Working closely with leadership and programme teams, you will identify stories, insights and evidence from our work and translate them into compelling communication for institutional, professional and public audiences.

What You Will Own
Build the Finovista Brand
  • Develop and execute Finovista’s communications and digital brand strategy.
  • Build a consistent organisational voice and strengthen positioning among development agencies, governments, foundations, businesses, investors and innovators.
  • Ensure strong messaging and visual consistency across corporate and programme communications.
  • Work with programme teams to identify compelling stories, outcomes, people and insights.
  • Create impact stories, articles, interviews, case studies, explainers, carousels, infographics and short-form video content.
  • Build a strong repository of photographs, videos, testimonials, programme milestones and stories from the field.
Own Social Media – Strategically
  • Lead platform strategy, especially LinkedIn, and own the editorial calendar from idea to publishing.
  • Develop campaigns around programmes, research, events, milestones and emerging sector themes.
  • Use analytics to improve reach and meaningful engagement, and identify conversations where Finovista should contribute.
Build Thought Leadership
  • Work with leadership and technical teams to develop articles, opinion pieces, perspectives and knowledge content.
  • Translate implementation experience and programme evidence into sharp, accessible insights.
  • Identify relevant speaking, publishing, media and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Communicate Programmes, Partnerships & Events
  • Develop communication strategies and materials for programmes, partnerships, conferences, workshops and webinars.
  • Manage pre-event, live and post-event communications and coordinate photography, videography, design and creative vendors.
  • Ensure partner visibility and external-facing materials are delivered professionally and on time.
Create & Curate Knowledge
  • Convert research and programme learning into briefs, newsletters, website stories, presentations, visual explainers and campaign assets.
  • Make complex technical ideas understandable without losing accuracy or nuance.
Who We Are Looking For

You may come from communications, journalism, digital media, public relations, development communication or content strategy. What matters most is the quality of your thinking, writing and work.

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable professional experience in communications, content, digital media, branding, journalism, public relations or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of demonstrable experience in the development sector, social-impact ecosystem, climate/sustainability, international development, public policy or a closely related field.
  • A strong portfolio showing content or campaigns you personally conceptualised, wrote or produced.
  • Experience managing organisational or programme social media channels, communication campaigns and editorial calendars.
  • Excellent professional writing and editing skills in English.
  • Experience coordinating designers, photographers, videographers or creative agencies/vendors.
  • Work experience in Social media and communications is mandatory.
Qualifications
  • Degree and Course in – Branding, Social Media, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Mass Communication, or a related discipline.
  • Graduation in a relevant field is mandatory.

  • You can spot a strong story where others see a project update, and you write with clarity rather than jargon.
  • You understand how communication differs for policymakers, development organisations, businesses, innovators and grassroots audiences.

  • You understand LinkedIn deeply and can translate data and evidence into strong visual narratives.
