Job summary

GCash, a Globe Telecom subsidiary, seeks a Senior Data Streaming Architect to own the enterprise streaming strategy and roadmap. You will architect real-time analytics infrastructure, prototype AI/ML integrations, and collaborate with business teams to ensure scalable, secure streaming patterns across the organization.

You will lead a cross-functional team, champion event-driven architecture, and drive platform adoption with a strong focus on governance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering or architecture.
• 5+ years building/managing large-scale Kafka/Confluent Platform solutions.
• 3+ years with stream processing (Flink/ksqlDB).
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Scala.
• Experience in data modeling and governance.
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization.
• Proven leadership in defining roadmaps and standards.
• Effective communication across agile teams.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Strategy & Roadmap Development: Owning and communicating the enterprise data streaming strategy, ensuring the long-term roadmap aligns with broader business goals and delivers measurable impact.
• Technical Leadership, Innovation & Future-state Architecture: Architecting and prototyping next-generation infrastructure for real-time analytics and emerging technologies (AI/ML), and partnering with business teams to lead high-value proof-of-concepts.
• Architecture & Governance: Designing and documenting scalable streaming patterns and standards, enforcing best practices to ensure security, quality, and reliability.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Acting as the central point of contact for streaming initiatives, managing stakeholder expectations, and driving the successful adoption of the platform across the enterprise.
• Evangelism & Enablement: Champion adoption and event-driven mindset; establish and lead a Community of Practice (CoP).

We’re looking for:

• 10+ years in data engineering or architecture, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience building and managing large-scale Kafka or Confluent Platform solutions.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with stream processing capabilities (Flink, ksqlDB) and proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
• Proficiency in Data Modeling and Data Governance and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD.
• Proven experience in a leadership role defining roadmaps and standards, with the ability to articulate a clear vision and influence technical direction.
• Essential experience working in agile, cross-functional teams, with excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration between business and IT stakeholders.
