Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related).
  • 2+ years hands-on maintenance/equipment engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own critical production equipment; ensure safety, capability, capacity and quality.
  • Improve uptime and performance via preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions.
  • Lead equipment qualification for new equipment; manage URS, FAT/SAT, and handover.
  • Support SPC, process control, and documentation; train operators and maintenance staff.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Production, and R&D for NPI and continuous improvement.
  • Support line balancing, takt time analysis, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer ensures the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of critical manufacturing equipment for magnetics and cable production. The role focuses on improving equipment uptime, quality, and cost efficiency through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsible for equipment optimization and new equipment introduction, the Maintenance Engineer supports production stability, process control, and compliance while collaborating cross‑functionally to drive productivity, support NPI, and achieve operational excellence. This position will report to the Maintenance Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Ownership & Reliability
  • Own critical production equipment used in the producing magnetics and cables.
  • Ensure equipment meets safety, capability, capacity, and quality requirements.
  • Improve equipment uptime, reliability, and performance through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions.
Process & Equipment Optimization
  • Optimize manufacturing parameters to improve yield, cycle time, and process stability.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and reduce variability.
  • Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through hardware, software, and process enhancements.
  • Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual handling and ergonomic risk.
New Equipment Introduction & Qualification
  • Lead specification, selection, installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
  • Support capital projects including URS creation, vendor evaluation, FAT/SAT, and handover to production.
  • Ensure equipment is capable of meeting product specifications, throughput, and quality targets.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, integrators, and internal stakeholders during equipment deployment.
Process Control & Documentation
  • Develop and maintain process documentation such as:
  • Operator’s Work Instruction
  • Machine Operating Instruction
  • Setup Checklist and process parameters
  • Control plans and PFMEAs (in collaboration with Quality)
  • Define and maintain process control limits and monitoring plans.
  • Support SPC implementation and data‑driven process control.
Quality & Compliance Support
  • Partner with Quality Engineering to resolve internal and customer quality issues.
  • Support containment, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure equipment and processes comply with customer, regulatory, and safety standards.
  • Support audits by providing technical evidence and equipment/process knowledge.
Production Technical Support
  • Provide day‑to‑day technical support to manufacturing teams.
  • Train operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel on equipment operation and best practices.
  • Support line balancing, capacity analysis, and takt time optimization.
  • Rapidly respond to production issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives related to materials usage, energy consumption, scrap, and rework.
  • Improve tool life, consumables usage, and maintenance efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects with measurable impact.
  • Support productivity and labor efficiency improvements through equipment and process changes.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D teams.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring equipment and processes are production‑ready.
  • Communicate technical risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing maintenance or equipment engineering, ideally within:
  • Magnetics, cable/wire, electronics, or other high‑volume discrete manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
  • Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Equipment troubleshooting and structured root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Driving improvements in equipment uptime and overall reliability
  • Preferably knowledgeable in PLC‑controlled equipment, HMIs, sensors, and basic automation systems, as well as pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Strong safety and risk awareness, with working knowledge of machine safety standards (LOTO, guarding, interlocks), ergonomic risk reduction, and safe handling of chemicals such as resins, varnishes, and insulation materials
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
