Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan in the Philippines seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee electrical and mechanical systems across campus, ensuring reliability and minimizing downtime. You will allocate tasks to skilled workers, handle emergencies, and promote preventive maintenance to extend equipment life.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, is a registered engineer, and has at least 3 years of related experience in facilities maintenance.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Candidate must be a registered engineer.
• At least 3 years of related work experience as a maintenance supervisor.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance including buildings, structures, equipment and components.
• Experience in preventive maintenance is a must.

Responsabilidades

• Availability of electrical power for campus operations and systems (lighting, HVAC, water pumps, etc.).
• Ensure operational availability of equipment and provide spares to minimize downtime.
• Assign daily work to skilled workers via supervisor; discuss complex tasks.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Make quick decisions in emergencies (short-circuits, outages, genset start-up) and escalate when needed.
• Adhere to environmental sustainability standards and best practices.
• Promote preventive maintenance through inspection and condition monitoring.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports and maintain maintenance records and logs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by superiors.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Availability of electrical power in the over-all operations of equipment and the campus facilities; lighting system, the air-conditioning, water pumps, blowers & fans, FDAS, audio-visual systems, wastewater treatment and other electrical and mechanical school campus machinery & auxiliaries.

2. Operational availability of equipment and systems to ensure continued operation of the different units of the Main campus. Provide spares of critical equipment, assemblies and parts to ensure minimum downtime during equipment/parts failure and repair.

3. Distributes work to skilled workers & helpers on a daily basis through the agency skilled supervisor. Confers on work items that involve complexity, particularly those requiring high technical skills, familiarity, and experience.

4. To implement effectively the preventive & corrective maintenance of all electrical and mechanical equipment, machinery and its auxiliaries.

5. Makes necessary decision in case of emergencies; electrical short-circuits & grounds, equipment electrical & mechanical failure, power outage, genset start-up, etc. If in doubt, call the immediate superior or Director for assistance.

6. Adheres to environmental sustainability standards and best practices.

7. Promote the use of preventive maintenance through inspection/condition monitoring of equipment/systems to spot deterioration and schedule repair prior to actual breakdown and downtime.

8. Prepares daily, weekly & monthly reports and as needed, though not necessarily limited to, accomplishment reports, equipment inspection & breakdown report, meter readings & consumption, accident report, etc. Sees to it that maintenance record of all equipment as well as the operation logbook are regularly and accurately being maintained.

9. Performs other tasks assigned from time to time by superiors.
