Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in the Philippines seeks a Mainframe z/OS System Programmer (L3) with 10+ years of hands-on technical and architect-level experience. You will work in a multi-site Mainframe shop and handle HW/SW/NW/OS security across data centers.

Responsibilities include collaborating with clients, OEMs, and ISVs on Mainframe platforms, evaluating IBM and OEM software for HA/DR, deriving realistic SLAs, and planning licensing, TCO, and ROI.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years hands-on technical and architect level experience on the mainframe z/OS platform.
• Experience in a multi-site mainframe shop with 2,000+ MIPS.
• Ability to work with clients, OEMs and ISVs on mainframe topics.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership across HW, SW, NW, OS and security in a mainframe environment.
• Evaluate IBM and OEM/ISV products for HA, DR and performance.
• Derive realistic SLAs and design architectures to meet them.
• Plan licensing, TCO and ROI for mainframe solutions.

Mainframe z/OS System Programmer – L3 – 10+ years of experience

Summary of key responsibilities

Minimum 10+ years of broad and in-depth hands-on technical and design/architect level experience in Mainframe z/OS

Experience in a multi-site (multiple Data Center) Mainframe shop of minimum 2,000 MIPS and above.

Work with Client/Customer, OEM & ISV Vendors, Business Partners related to all aspects of the Mainframe Platform.

Support various Mainframe Software (both IBM and OEM/ISV products evaluation, High Availability, Disaster Recovery etc.

Derive realistic Mainframe SLAs and design / propose architecture meeting those SLAs goals

Mainframe Licensing, TCO and ROI planning and decision making.

Years of Experience

Minimum 10+ years of hands-on technical and Architect experience on the Mainframe Platform as a whole (HW, SW, NW, OS and Security)

Technical requirements

• Conversant with both IBM and EMC HW and Replication methodology. Hitachi optional.
• Mainframe Data Center Physical Planning and Design
• Experience in IBM z14, z15 & z16 Mainframe HW and Parallel Sysplex/GDPS-GDDR Setup
• Experience in both IBM and EMC Disk and Tape Storage hardware, software and replication.
• Mainframe Tools–SIEM (Q-Radar), z/OS-SA or CA-OPS/MVS Automation
• Mainframe DB2, MQ, CICS, WAS, Control-M
