GrowthAssistant connects top marketing and operations talent with fast-growing companies that depend on great execution to scale. Founded in 2021 and named by Forbes as one of the best startups to work at, we’re a permanently remote team that runs on integrity, proactive candor, and a bias toward action — and we prioritize the human experience in everything we do. We hire for skill and for heart, and we invest in our people for the long haul.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Long-Form Product Video Editor (YouTube) to own the YouTube content engine for a fast-growing B2B SaaS and AI technology company — editing product launches, feature deep-dives, tutorials, and walkthroughs where the central skill is putting the product on screen and making sure every moment of narration is matched to exactly what the viewer is looking at. This is not a passive editing role: you’ll source and capture your own screen recordings, build UI callouts and zooms, design frame layouts, write and QA technically accurate subtitles, and apply strong design fundamentals to make complex software content feel polished and accessible. Portfolio evidence of narration-matched product UI on screen — screen recordings, demos, or walkthroughs — is required to be considered.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
- Long-Form Video Editing: Edit at least one primary long-form YouTube video per week covering product launches, feature deep-dives, tutorials, and walkthroughs — turning raw footage into polished, engaging content with clear narrative flow, strong pacing, and visual appeal that holds throughout.
- Product UI Matching & Screen Recording: Source and capture your own screen recordings of the product rather than relying only on supplied assets — matching what is on screen to what is being said, moment by moment, so that when the script names a feature, the viewer is looking at that feature.
- On-Screen Design & Visual Support: Build the on-screen support that makes a product legible — UI callouts, zooms, highlights, and prompt text; design the layout of every frame including asset placement, type hierarchy, and hold times so the eye knows where to go and nothing is obscured.
- Post-Production & Brand Consistency: Add captions, lower thirds, light graphics, transitions, music, b-roll, and branded visual elements; work inside the existing brand system using supplied fonts, colors, and templates rather than introducing new ones; write and QA subtitles with correct spelling of product, model, and feature names.
- Collaboration & Workflow: Review creative briefs and scripts to align editing style with content goals; collaborate with the team asynchronously and during US time zone overlap to incorporate feedback quickly; maintain organized project files, exports, and version control; and help establish repeatable editing templates and workflows as the content engine scales.
What You Bring
- Video Editing Experience & Portfolio: 3+ years of hands-on video editing experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating long-form YouTube, product, tutorial, or launch video work — including demonstrated examples where software or product UI is on screen and narration is matched to it. Portfolio evidence of screen recordings, demos, or walkthroughs is required.
- Design Fundamentals: Strong design fundamentals — layout, typography hierarchy, composition, and frame-level judgment — with the ability to design visually legible frames independently without detailed instruction on every creative choice.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or comparable editing tools — plus After Effects or an equivalent for motion graphics and on-screen design elements.
- Proactive Asset Sourcing & Storytelling: Comfortable going into a product, recording what is needed, and building new screen grabs rather than waiting for supplied assets; strong storytelling instincts and ability to shape raw footage into engaging, clearly structured narratives.
- Attention to Detail & Communication: Strong attention to technical accuracy including subtitle spelling of product and feature names; excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate asynchronously and during US time zone overlap.
Bonus Points if:
- You have experience editing content for AI or SaaS products, particularly in-house or agency-side for a B2B SaaS company.
- You have experience editing videos for enterprise-level organizations.
- You have familiarity with AI-enabled creative or video production tools.
- You have 3D modeling or generative asset creation experience.
- You have experience creating repeatable video templates for recurring content series or supporting a high-volume brand YouTube channel.
- You personally use developer tools, AI products, or technical software — not just as an editor of them.
