The World Food Programme (WFP) Philippines Country Office supports the Government of the Philippines in strengthening national disaster preparedness and response systems, with a particular focus on logistics readiness and emergency supply chain capacity.
As part of this effort, WFP is supporting the establishment of a National Humanitarian Response Hubs strategically located across multiple areas of the country to enhance the Government’s ability to pre-position, manage, and rapidly deploy relief commodities and emergency assets during crises.
These hubs are intended to strengthen national logistics capacity and enable timely, coordinated, and effective humanitarian response operations.
The initiative is being implemented in close collaboration with key government counterparts, including the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DOH), and other national and local stakeholders.
The project contributes to the institutionalization of government-led, efficient, and resilient emergency logistics systems.
The Logistics Officer will support the planning, implementation, and operationalization of logistics preparedness initiatives, ensuring that humanitarian response hubs, systems, processes, and capacities are aligned with national priorities and operational requirements.
The position reports directly to the Supply Chain Officer (Capacity Strengthening) and works closely with the Procurement Unit, Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) Unit, government counterparts, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective integration of logistics preparedness activities, procurement processes, infrastructure requirements, and emergency response readiness across project interventions.
The Logistics Officer (Preparedness) will provide technical and operational support for the establishment and operationalization of the National Humanitarian Response Hubs.
The position will contribute to strengthening national logistics preparedness and emergency response capacity through preparedness planning, hub operations, systems development, capacity strengthening, and multi-agency coordination to ensure efficient, effective, and scalable humanitarian response operations.
Education: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Humanitarian Affairs, or a related field.
A first university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in a relevant field, combined with additional years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Excellent written and oral/Communications skills in English.
Monthly salary starting from approximately PHP 100,000.00++
