Monitor and interpret laws, rules, and regulations affecting the energy sector (e.g., EPIRA, RE Act, DOE circulars, ERC resolutions).
Prepare, review, and manage regulatory filings with DOE, ERC, SEC, DENR, LGUs, and other relevant agencies.
Ensure compliance with permitting requirements, including ECCs, service contracts, RE certificates, grid connection permits, and franchise obligations.
Support internal audits and compliance programs.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts.
Ensure commercial terms and risk allocations protect the company’s interests.
Provide legal opinions on regulatory issues, licensing, disputes, procurement, land acquisition, and project development.
Advise management on risk exposure and mitigation strategies.
Support due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or project financing transactions.
Liaise with government agencies (DOE, ERC, NGCP, NEA, DENR, LGUs, NCIP, etc.).
Assist in public hearings, regulatory consultations, and stakeholder engagements.
Draft responses, affidavits, and formal communications to regulators.
Coordinate with external counsel for administrative, regulatory, civil, or contractual disputes.
Support documentation and collection of evidence for ERC cases or arbitration.
Track legal actions and ensure timely compliance with procedural requirements.
Assist in SEC reportorial requirements, board resolutions, and corporate housekeeping.
Maintain legal records, permits and contract repositories.
