Job summary

Copperstone Lending in Taguig seeks an in-house Legal Counsel to serve as the company’s primary legal and compliance liaison. You will draft and review contracts, advise on corporate matters, labor issues, taxation, and daily legal concerns while ensuring regulatory adherence.

You will monitor local laws, communicate with regulators (SEC, BSP, NPC), and support new products with cross‑functional teams. A Philippine LL.B.

Qualifications

• LL.B. degree and Philippine Bar license in good standing
• 4–5 years of legal work experience (law firm or in‑house)
• At least 3 years of compliance experience in the financial industry
• Preferred fintech, consumer finance, or online lending exposure
• AML/CFT certification advantageous
• Fluent in English

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and advise on business contracts, corporate documents, labor/employment matters, taxation issues, and daily legal matters
• Research local laws, regulations, and industry updates to provide accurate legal opinions and strategic guidance
• Act as legal counsel and liaise with regulatory bodies (SEC, BSP, NPC) for compliance and regulatory submissions
• Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks, especially in consumer protection, data privacy, and digital lending
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support new products and initiatives
• Draft and maintain compliance manuals, internal policies, and staff training materials
• Provide compliance advisory support and monitor regulatory developments
• Ensure your profile includes your LL.B. degree, bar license, and relevant experience.
