Job summary

Ashlar Energy is seeking a Compliance Officer to provide legal assistance on power sector regulations, energy transition policies, corporate compliance, and regulatory matters within the Philippine electricity market.

The role includes securing licenses, drafting contracts, monitoring compliance calendars, supporting litigation before judicial and regulatory bodies, and coordinating with engineering and management to align with safety and environmental standards. Hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulatory compliance or government relations, preferably in energy or infrastructure.
• Exposure to commercial and technical development in the energy sector is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for internal and client coordination.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Secure licenses, permits, and filings in line with statutory requirements.
• Draft, review, and maintain commercial agreements and corporate resolutions.
• Monitor daily operations, compliance calendars, and audit checklists.
• Assist in legal research, pleadings, and representation before judicial/regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate with engineering, technical, and management teams to align workflows with legal, safety, and environmental standards.

We are currently looking for a Compliance Officer who will be responsible for providing legal assistance on power sector regulations, energy transition policies, corporate compliance, and/or litigation before judicial, quasi-judicial, and regulatory bodies.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Secure licenses, permits, and filings in accordance with statutory requirements
• Contract & Document Management: Draft, review, and maintain commercial agreements and corporate resolutions
• Auditing & Tracking: Monitor daily operations, compliance calendars, and audit checklists
• Legal Dispute Support: Assist in legal research, pleadings, and representation before judicial and regulatory bodies
• Cross-Department Coordination: Partner with engineering, technical, and management teams to align workflows with legal, safety, and environmental standards

Qualifications & experience

To be successful in this role, skills and qualifications must include:

• Relevant experience in, regulatory compliance or government relations, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or related industries is highly preferred;
• Prior exposure to commercial and technical development within the energy sector is an advantage;
• Strong process-driven mindset, organizational skills, and attention to detail;
• Excellent written and verbal communication for internal and client coordination;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
• Bachelor’s degree in Legal Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Juris Doctor/LLB or bar license is a plus)
