Job summary

Kredivo Philippines is seeking a proactive lawyer to join our Legal and Compliance Department. You will handle regulatory compliance, licensing, data privacy, and employment law matters, acting as the primary legal partner to HR on contracts, policies, and investigations.

The role requires 3+ years in-house experience with labor and employment work, strong knowledge of the Labor Code, and the ability to manage investigations and disputes independently in a fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Philippine attorney with active bar membership.
• 3+ years in-house legal work with labor/HR focus.
• Fintech or lending sector experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Philippine Labor Code and DOLE/NLRC processes.
• Ability to draft and review contracts and HR policies.
• Strong issue-spotting and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Own regulatory calendar; filings, renewals, and registrations with SEC, NPC, AMLC, BIR, LGUs, and other authorities.
• Monitor fintech, data privacy, AML, and taxation developments; translate into policies.
• Coordinate regulatory examinations and remediation actions.
• Serve as Data Protection Officer (upon designation); oversee Data Privacy Act compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, vendor/partnership agreements, and NDAs.
• Advise HR on employment contracts, workplace policies, performance management, discipline, and separation; ensure due process.
• Manage labor disputes before DOLE, NLRC, and NCMB; monitor wage orders and labor jurisprudence.
• Prepare board/shareholder resolutions and corporate records; build compliance workflows to reduce risk.

Job description

Kredivo Philippines is seeking a proactive, commercially minded lawyer with strong Philippine labor and employment law, HR advisory, and regulatory compliance experience to join its Legal and Compliance Department. The ideal candidate combines sound legal judgment, strong issue-spotting, and disciplined execution, and can operate independently in a fast-moving fintech environment. You will report directly to the Head of Legal and Compliance and work closely with HR, business, product, operations, risk, finance, and regional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Licensing

• Own the regulatory calendar; ensure timely filings, renewals, and registrations with SEC, NPC, AMLC, BIR, LGUs, and other authorities.
• Monitor regulatory developments in fintech, data privacy, AML, and taxation; translate them into practical policies and guidance.
• Coordinate regulatory examinations and remediation actions.

Data Privacy, AML & Consumer Protection

• Serve as Data Protection Officer (upon designation); oversee Data Privacy Act and NPC compliance.
• Support privacy/AML/consumer-protection controls, impact assessments, audits, and incident response.

Legal Advisory & Contracts

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor and partnership agreements, and NDAs.
• Provide risk-based legal advice on new products and operational changes.
• Maintain contract, licence, and corporate-record repositories.
• Serve as principal legal partner to HR on employment contracts, workplace policies, performance management, discipline, and separation.
• Advise on termination, redundancy, retrenchment, and other just/authorized causes under Philippine labor law.
• Draft employment agreements, notices, investigation reports, settlement agreements, and quitclaims.
• Guide investigations and disciplinary proceedings, ensuring due process and documentation.
• Manage labor disputes and proceedings before DOLE, NLRC, and NCMB.
• Monitor wage orders and labor jurisprudence; train HR and people managers.

Corporate Governance & Legal Operations

• Prepare board/shareholder resolutions and corporate records.
• Coordinate execution, notarization, and regulatory filings.
• Build legal/compliance workflows and trackers to reduce execution risk.
• Escalate material risks and support mitigation.

Qualifications

• JD/LLB and active Philippine Bar membership.
• 3+ years relevant legal/in-house experience, with substantial hands-on labor and employment work and HR support; fintech/lending/financial-services experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the Labor Code, DOLE/NLRC processes, and due process requirements; working knowledge of corporate, data privacy, and AML law.
• Experience with investigations, terminations, labor disputes, contract review, and compliance monitoring.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities autonomously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
• In-house experience on sensitive HR cases, labor audits, or litigation; DPO/AML/consumer-finance exposure a plus.
• Strong issue-spotting and fact-verification discipline.
• Ownership mindset with good judgment on when to escalate.
