Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a learning role.
  • Formal Adult Learning certification and/or CTDP is an asset.

  • Financial services experience is an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Job description

The Retirement Operations Change Management and Learning Centre of Excellence is seeking a Learning Consultant to work in collaboration with leaders and subject matter experts from Retirement Operations as well as with multi-disciplinary project teams to lead learning activities across transformational and business-as-usual initiatives. This role will be responsible for strategically designing, developing, and implementing tailored learning strategies and plans to drive learning commitments from awareness and training delivery through to sustained user adoption.

Key Accountabilities
  • Bring learning expertise, consultation and influence in support of the Retirement Operations ambition, goals and service commitment to customers. partner with leaders to define, prioritize and solution learning needs, ensuring ongoing alignment with strategic initiatives and expectations from senior leaders through consistent communication.
  • Develop learning strategies and related training plans tailored to the unique needs of each initiative, socializing and ensuring buy-in from leaders of impacted areas, and collaborating with Learning Designers and Knowledge Management resources for the development of learning materials, and with subject matter experts and other training resources for training delivery in the lead up to go-live.
  • Develop comprehensive learning strategies, related training plans and training materials in collaboration with leaders and subject matter experts from Retirement Operations, Retirement, Sales and Distribution, Communications, Marketing, and Technology.
  • Collaborate effectively with global stakeholders, project team members, vendors, shared services, and other groups to influence learning outcomes and deliver quality learning solutions within scope and agreed upon timelines; remotely manage relationships.
  • Conduct needs assessments for each learning initiative to validate learning needs for teams and individuals impacted directly or indirectly by the change and inform learning tactics.
  • Lead socialization of learning strategies with leaders of impacted groups, to ensure proposed tactics and approaches meet business needs.
  • Identify potential risks to developing training materials and delivering training and leverage insights to develop mitigation strategies and plan to proactively address risks and blockers.
  • Report on progress and risks pertaining to training deliverables.
  • Design and deploy methodologies to measure the effectiveness of learning tactics including lessons learned sessions to drive continuous improvement.
Job Requirement (Knowledge, Skills & Competencies)
  • Understand the project management lifecycle and exemplify flexibility across a variety of project methodologies.
  • Experience leading learning activities for large transformation projects and initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups, leveraging learning methodologies and frameworks.
  • Proven track-record of introducing learning as a discipline across senior leadership, people managers and stakeholders.
  • Proven track-record of working in a project environment, working with Gantt charts and workback schedules, feeding into RACI discussions and project status updates.
  • Ability to quantitively define and measure learning outcomes across stakeholder groups to track the effectiveness of learning deliverables.
  • Well-versed in current and evolving adult learning best practices, strategies and methodologies. Expert level ability to analyze data and identify trends to improve learning solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills; ability to work effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and dedication to project timelines. Skills include time management and organization skills; ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and re-adjust priorities per changing circumstances, develop workplans and workback schedules, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data /information/activities effectively.
  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to synthesize information and develop appropriate actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills – interacting confidently, professionally and building relationships across all areas of the organization.
  • 3+ years of experience in a learning role
  • Financial Services experience is an asset
  • Formal Adult Learning certification and/ or Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation is an asset
  • Agile/Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
