Job summary

Angkas is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive technical excellence, architecture decisions, and team collaboration. You will design and implement secure, scalable Go-based systems leveraging Kafka, Kubernetes, Redis, and PostgreSQL.

You will mentor engineers and help deliver high-availability services for a nationwide ride-hailing platform. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and deep experience in building scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of professional development experience.
• Expertise in Go (Golang), Kafka, K8s, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of advanced programming design patterns.
• Understanding of advanced programming principles and when/how to use them.
• Ability to teach and demonstrate writing clean and maintainable code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proficiency with high scalability and high availability systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Own a set of components, guide software design and architectural decisions, contribute as senior engineer, ensure delivery performance, mentor team.
• System Design and Implementation: Design and implement secure, scalable Kafka-based event-driven systems; optimize Redis and PostgreSQL schemas and queries.

Technical Leadership

Owns a set of components. Provide guidance on software design, development, and implementation. Lead architectural discussions and decisions. Contribute as senior software engineer. Build and Run the software. Be part of the 24x7 on-call roaster. Responsible for the delivery performance of the team. Mentor and coach team members.

System Design and Implementation

Design and implement solutions that are foundationally secure. Architect and optimize Kafka-based event-driven systems. Design and implement scalable solutions using Go (Golang). Optimize Redis for performance and fault tolerance. Define and optimize PostgreSQL database schema and queries.

Collaboration

Work closely with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, etc.). Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements. Foster a positive team dynamic.
