Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking an experienced PHP/Laravel developer to design, code, test, and debug software systems under project leadership in Mandaluyong, Philippines. You will develop applications per detailed specs, deliver unit-tested modules on time, and troubleshoot issues while collaborating with clients to understand business needs driving technology.

The ideal candidate holds a 5+ year track record, demonstrates strong MVC understanding, and is proficient with Laravel, MySQL, and Git.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related area.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Understanding of MVC design patterns.
• Experience with Laravel and MySQL.
• Knowledge of data modeling and ER diagrams preferred.
• Understanding PHP synchronous behavior and PHP limitations.
• Proficient with Git version control.

Job description

Design, code, test, and debug software systems under the direction of the project manager or team leader.

Develop applications per detailed specifications using specified programming languages, tools, and techniques.

Deliver unit-tested systems timely that meet specification functionality requirements

Troubleshoot technical problems.

Provide technical support on developed systems.

Research new developments in hardware and software. Keep abreast of latest developments regarding effective procedures, methods, and tools in software development and testing.

Work with team members to define detailed specifications for specific system and sub-system functionality requirements.

Participate in client meetings and understand business needs driving technology.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related area.

At least 5 years of relevant work experience.

Understanding of MVC design patterns.

Experience preferred working with Laravel Framework, MY SQL.

Experience in systems development techniques and methodologies (data modeling, entity relationship diagramming and functional decomposition) are preferred.

Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHP.

Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds.

Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Experience with AWS, or cloud technologies is a plus.
