Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer for our Palm Bay, Florida site to develop, implement, monitor, and maintain OEHS programs ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulations. You will be the lone OEHS professional guiding safety culture for ~370 non-union employees, and advising site management on OEHS matters.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of OEHS experience.
• Thorough knowledge of state FDEP regulations, and federal OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with the ability to relate across organizational levels.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat).
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert in Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety.
• Maintain OEHS written plans and specifications for OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security requirements set by regulatory authorities.
• Lead development and implementation of OEHS programs to meet regulatory laws.
• Develop relationships with local authorities for compliance and reporting.
• Monitor regulatory changes and apply them to site procedures.
• Identify hazards, assess exposures, and implement controls for worker safety.
• Participate in internal audits, drive corrective actions, and close findings.
• Conduct accident investigations and implement preventive measures.
• Develop and conduct OEHS training; perform periodic environmental inspections.
• Oversee emergency response planning and readiness; manage incident response.
• Approve new chemical use under HazCom and change-management processes.
• Coordinate OEHS capital projects to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Supervise hazardous waste operations (LQG) and radiation licenses.
• Manage air permits with state environmental agencies.
