Business Process Outsourcing International, Inc. is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to guide design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems across multiple projects in Metro Manila.
You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards. The role involves leading feasibility studies, engineering calculations, vendor reviews, and optimization of HVAC, piping, and rotating equipment.
The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and engineering projects. This role provides technical leadership to engineering teams, ensures compliance with industry standards, manages project execution, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to support organizational goals.
Lead and oversee mechanical engineering activities across multiple projects.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to junior and senior engineers.
Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
Ensure engineering solutions meet safety, quality, operational, and regulatory requirements.
Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Lead the design and optimization of mechanical systems, including:
HVAC systems
Pumps and compressors
Piping systems
Boilers and pressure vessels
Rotating and static equipment
Perform feasibility studies, engineering calculations, and technical evaluations.
Review technical proposals and vendor submissions.
Support maintenance, reliability, and asset management programs.
Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and recommend preventive measures.
Develop strategies to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency.
Lead troubleshooting activities during critical equipment failures.
Ensure compliance with engineering codes, standards, and company policies.
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses.
Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
Prepare and review engineering reports, design packages, and technical documentation.
Develop engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
Provide project status reports and technical presentations to management and stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) required or preferred, depending on regulatory requirements.
Master's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration is an advantage.
Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
At least 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Proven experience managing large-scale engineering or industrial projects.
Experience in manufacturing, energy, utilities, oil and gas, construction, facilities management, or industrial operations is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design practices.
Expertise in rotating equipment, HVAC, piping, utilities, and industrial systems.
Proficiency in:

ETAP (if applicable)
Microsoft Project
Strong understanding of:
Reliability engineering
Asset management
Preventive and predictive maintenance
Engineering standards and codes
Ability to perform engineering calculations, cost analysis, and risk assessments.
