Job summary

Lewis Personnel Management is seeking an experienced Architecture and Backend Java lead to design end-to-end technical solutions, drive architectural decisions, and shepherd complex applications across teams.

You will work with Java 17/8, RESTful APIs, Spring Boot, cloud-native microservices, testing with JUnit, security best practices, and modern development practices including CI/CD and Git workflows; front-end exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

Architecture and Technical Leadership

• Strong experience in software design, solution architecture, technical leadership, or architecting complex applications.

• Ability to design end-to-end technical solutions and make sound architectural decisions.

• Experience leading technical discussions and collaborating with developers and other stakeholders.

Backend Development

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 or Java 8.

• Solid experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.

• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.

• Experience developing cloud-native applications, including microservices architectures.

• Experience with unit testing and integration testing, preferably using JUnit or similar frameworks.

• Strong understanding of application and API security principles and best practices.

• Experience working with data persistence technologies, including RDBMS and/or NoSQL databases.

Development Practices and Tools

• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines.

• Knowledge of test automation practices and tools.

• Proficiency in Git and version control systems.

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Strong understanding of software development best practices, including clean code, code reviews, and maintainable application design.

• AWS or Azure experience

Nice-to-Have Skills - Front-End Development

Candidates with experience in front-end technologies will have an advantage, particularly those with:

• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar technologies.

• Understanding of front-end architecture, API integration, and responsive UI development.
