Job summary

Black & White Engineering seeks a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and execution of complex electrical systems on large-scale projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in a multi-disciplinary design consulting firm; overseas experience is an advantage.
• Experience handling large-scale projects, preferably including data centre design.
• Proficient in designing electrical systems, including LV power systems, lighting, FDAS, earthing & lightning protection, and ELV systems (security, telecom/data systems).
• Experienced in MV power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, selectivity, and coordination studies.
• Knowledgeable in the application of British Standards and IEC Standards in electrical design.
• Proficient in design software such as Dialux, Amtech or ETAP, Navis, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
• Well-versed in industry practices related to equipment specifications, brand selection, and regional applications.
• Able to provide in-depth technical review of complete electrical designs.
• Knowledgeable in project management, scheduling, and project cost analysis; capable of monitoring project progress and coordinating with other disciplines.
• Currently handling a team of engineers for specific project assignments; able to facilitate and chair weekly project meetings.
• Strong team player who encourages group cooperation, initiative, and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and execution of complex electrical systems on large-scale projects.
• Coordinate engineering services for Mechanical or Electrical installations across multiple building types.
• Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building services.
• Perform surveys, tests, and dilapidation reports on existing electrical installations.
• Ensure drawings meet robust industry and legal standards and align with customer requirements.
• Direct liaison with clients and represent the company at technical meetings.
• Review and approve electrical designs and provide technical leadership to project teams.
