We are seeking an experienced and strategic Cybersecurity Engineer Lead to lead the Cybersecurity Defense function across Jardine Matheson Corporate. The Cybersecurity Engineer Lead is a hands-on technical leader responsible for guiding the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's cybersecurity engineering and platform administration functions. This role provides technical leadership and mentorship to a team of security engineers, drives the strategic roadmap for security technologies, and ensures the effective operation of controls across vulnerability management, identity and access security, data protection, and detection engineering. The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with a proven ability to lead projects, mentor talent, and align security initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and professional development.
• Provide technical guidance, direction, and support to the team on complex security engineering challenges, platform administration, and incident response.
• Drive the strategic roadmap for security engineering and platform administration, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of cybersecurity technology projects, including deployments, upgrades, and enhancement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technical standards, implementation procedures, and engineering guidance for the team and broader organization.
• Champion automation and operational efficiency initiatives to improve the scalability and effectiveness of security operations.
• Serve as a key escalation point for complex technical issues and coordinate remediation efforts with internal teams and vendors.

Security Engineering & Platform Administration

• Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity technologies and controls.
• Lead secure configuration, hardening, integration, and lifecycle management of enterprise security platforms.
• Direct technical assessments, testing, and validation of security controls and capabilities.
• Review and approve security configurations, identifying and driving opportunities to strengthen the overall security posture.
• Manage platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, tuning, optimization, and retirement planning.
• Ensure platform health monitoring, configuration management, policy administration, and operational maintenance are performed effectively.

Vulnerability & Identity Security

• Lead the enterprise vulnerability management program, including assessments, remediation coordination, and validation.
• Produce and present vulnerability reports, metrics, and risk summaries to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Drive risk-based prioritization and remediation tracking activities across technology teams.
• Provide technical leadership for identity and access management security controls.
• Oversee initiatives to strengthen identity security, reduce access-related risk, and improve authentication, authorization, and privileged access management.
• Lead identity-related security reviews and control validation exercises.

Data Protection & Detection Engineering

• Lead the implementation and administration of data protection controls, including data classification, information protection, and data loss prevention.
• Drive security control testing, validation, and effectiveness reviews for data protection initiatives.
• Lead the implementation and improvement of security detection capabilities.
• Oversee the development, tuning, and optimization of security alerts and detection use cases.
• Guide threat-informed defense activities and contribute to enhancing detection coverage and security visibility.
• Provide senior engineering leadership during cybersecurity incident investigations and remediation activities.
• Lead technical analysis and containment activities when required.
• Drive post-incident remediation and control improvement initiatives.
• Lead and participate in cyber incident response exercises and readiness testing.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 to 8+ years of cybersecurity experience, with a significant portion in a senior or lead engineering role.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring technical teams and managing cybersecurity projects.
• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity technologies and controls.
• Deep practical experience in the following areas: security engineering, security platform administration, vulnerability management, identity and access security, data protection, or detection engineering.
• Experience working in complex enterprise IT or cybersecurity environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading the implementation and administration of enterprise cybersecurity technologies.
• Experience managing cybersecurity engineering or security platform administration functions.
• Experience leading vulnerability management and remediation programs.
• Strong familiarity with identity security, cloud security, endpoint security, and data protection concepts.
• Experience integrating, configuring, and optimizing security technologies and controls.
• Experience leading security monitoring and detection capability improvements.
• Experience leading cybersecurity projects and technology deployments.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance principles.

Preferred Certifications

• Industry-recognized advanced cybersecurity certifications relevant to security engineering, cloud security, identity security, vulnerability management, or cybersecurity operations (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, OSCP, or cloud provider certifications).
• Certifications demonstrating practical cybersecurity knowledge and leadership are strongly preferred.
