Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design and delivery of complex infrastructure projects across transport, land development, water, energy, and dams. The role combines technical leadership, mentorship, and active client engagement.

You will guide design reviews, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule and budget, and drive innovative digital delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong design background across infrastructure sectors including Transport, Land Development, Water, Energy, Dams and Tailings.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers and designers while contributing to team growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, standards, and objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers across the team.
• Manage and oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Lead design reviews, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and providing technical oversight throughout the lifecycle.
• Drive innovations and continuous improvement in engineering design processes and project execution methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Support business development activities through proposals, tenders, and technical submissions.

What Youll Do

• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, technical standards, and project objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers, fostering technical excellence and capability development across the team.
• Manage and oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Lead project and contract activities, including design coordination, client liaison, and stakeholder engagement.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering design processes, digital delivery, and project execution methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Support business development activities through proposals, tenders, technical submissions, and client relationship management.

What You Will Bring to the Team

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure projects, with demonstrated experience in design delivery, project leadership, and technical oversight.
• Strong civil engineering design background across infrastructure sectors including Transport, Land Development, Water, Energy, Dams and Tailings..
• Demonstrated experience in leading design reviews, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across local and global teams.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers and designers while contributing to team growth and capability building.
