Job summary

Environmental-Health Laboratory Services Cooperative in the Philippines is seeking a Laboratory Chemist to perform sample preparations, run routine and specialized tests on WEM samples, and operate laboratory equipment to conduct analyses.

You will record test results meticulously, analyze data for accuracy, and participate in QC/QA programs, including proficiency testing, while adhering to GLP and ISO standards and maintaining a safe, compliant laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
• Licensed Chemist

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparations
• Perform routine and specialized tests on WEM samples according to standards
• Operation of laboratory equipment to conduct analyses
• Record test results meticulously and maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records
• Analyse data to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Ensure the quality and integrity of the laboratory results by performing quality control (QC) checks
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance (QA) programs such as Proficiency Testing (PT)
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
• Follow industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. GLP, ISO) in all laboratory practices
• Document any non-conformances investigate causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents
• Order and restock materials as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments
• Perform other job-related tasks as required by the immediate superior
