SAMS Greens & Grains PTE LTD is seeking a part-time Kitchen Helper at our Raffles Place location in the Central Region. You will support culinary operations, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly while upholding high standards of food preparation and hygiene.

As a Kitchen Helper, you will assist with food prep, keep work areas clean, and help with plating under senior staff guidance, contributing to quality meals and guest experiences in a busy kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with washing, peeling, cutting and portioning ingredients according to recipe.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work stations and equipment.
• Support sandwich preparation and assembly under supervision.
• Wash and sanitise dishes and utensils to health standards.
• Take deliveries and store ingredients, maintain inventory awareness.
• Assist with plating and presentation under guidance.
• Support waste management and recycling procedures.

About the role

SAMS Greens & Grains PTE LTD is seeking a Kitchen Helper to join our dynamic kitchen team on a part-time basis at our Raffles Place location in the Central Region. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our culinary operations, ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and hygiene. As a Kitchen Helper, you will be instrumental in helping us deliver quality meals and exceptional customer experiences to our guests.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with food preparation including washing, peeling, cutting and portioning ingredients according to recipe specifications
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work stations, cooking equipment and storage areas
• Supporting sandwich preparation and assembly under supervision
• Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans and utensils to health and safety standards
• Taking deliveries and storing ingredients in appropriate locations, maintaining inventory awareness
• Assisting with food plating and presentation under the guidance of senior kitchen staff
• Supporting waste management and recycling procedures
• Following all food safety and hygiene protocols consistently
• Responding to kitchen requests promptly and working as part of a collaborative team

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential
• A strong commitment to maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with a positive attitude
• Reliability and punctuality, particularly important for part-time scheduling
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior kitchen staff
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices or willingness to complete training
